BCPAL Sponsors High School Students in ACE Aviation Program

As seen in the Washington Daily News

WILD BLUE YONDER: As part of a first-time collaboration, the Beaufort County Police Activities League (BC PAL) will pay for 10 Beaufort County high-school students to attend a one-week aviation “ACE” Academy conducted by Elizabeth City State University (ECSU), Elizabeth City. This academy is approved by the Federal Aviation Administration and partially funded by the NC Department of Transportation. The academy, which is co-ed, will focus on aviation and aviation technology careers with the students staying on the ECSU campus during June 14–19. Food will be included. ECSU has been operating an ACE academy for several years and is considered to have an outstanding program. No high-school student from Beaufort County has ever attended this program. BCS personnel coordinated the selection of the 10 high-school students that will be attending the ECSU academy.
